In 1997, a new Filipina website entered my mind. In 1998 I started it with a handful of Filipinas. Why? There are a lot of reasons. Since then, hundreds have joined us in an effort to bring to the Internet a broad range of Filipina perspective. There is something within us that wants to reach out to you. There must be many out there, who, like us, are asking questions about life, love, and self. Some find answers; some do not. The BagongPinay Web site does not propose to solve the mysteries of life. It cannot. What it can do is open a door for the exchange of ideas, opinions, and experiences. We can all learn from one another, and the Net offers an amazing vehicle to do that. A common thread binds us: we are Filipinas. We may be young or old, rich or poor, living in Manila or New York, single or married, educated or not so, happy or sad, it does not matter. We all have something to share, We all have something to give. Tell us about the choices you made in your life. Tell us something that can empower another to take control of her life.
