BagongPinay - Sino Kami (Who We Are)

NewFilipina.com is about positive representation for Filipinas on the Internet and about Filipina empowerment. We want more and more Filipinas to broaden their horizons and to discover and harness the power and strengths that they have within themselves. The online community of BagongPinay site hopes to be a place on the World Wide Web where Filipinas can share opinions and experiences, facilitate awareness of choices and opportunities, and inspire.

In the summer of 1997, the BagongPinay site first existed as a little seed of an idea in our hearts and minds, but in April of 1998 it became a reality and we launched the site with teaser art and an online discussion on "Who is the New Filipina?" The comprehensive site was officially uploaded in June of 1998.

A year later in 1999, the site was revamped and improved with new features and extensive message boards.

Now , 4 years after being online, this 2002, we are working on a new look, organizing the tremendous amount of information that has accumulated, and becoming a better community online.

This site is run purely by voluntary efforts and contributions of those generous women and men who believe in the Filipina and in Filipino community around the world.
