![]() Mini-book feature: Unforgettable Women I must admit I love to read about personalities so I subscribe to People Magazine. I especially enjoy reading about women's achievements and do-gooders. It hits especially close to home, and this must go for most of us Pinoys, when I read about Filipinas who are famous or notorious. And here is one of my finds in the special collectors edition of People magazine Unforgettable Women of the Century. Icons, funny ladies, creators, tragic heroines...divas. Women who made their impression in this century.
In the Movers & Shapers chapter. Pioneers, Visionaries and leaders, they rocked our world. Featured are Indira Gandhi, Gloria Steinman, Coretta Scott King, Marie Curie, Emily Post, Margaret Thatcher... and they didn't fail to include one whole page for our first Philippine female president Corazon Aquino. excerpt on Cory Aquino:
In the Notorious chapter. Scandal queens and bad girls can captivate us as much as our heroines. Featured are Joan Crawford, Bonnie Parker(of Bonnie and Clyde notoriety), Winnie Mandel, and Mata Hari... and also one page on Philippines very own Imelda Marcos. excerpt on Imelda Marcos:
An ex-beauty queen funded her shopping sprees with the state budget...Growing up in a small Philippine village, Imelda Romualdez once said she aspired only to a tiny little picket fence and a little car. That would be enough. Of course, it turned out to be not nearly enough...
