Preconception
by Connie dello Bueno

How soon can a woman conceive after being married to her man for over 9 months or more? First, the woman's body gets used to the sperm, a foreign matter.

Second, a regular menstrual cycle. Studies have shown that there are such thing as pheromones, a kind of sweat/odor found in all men's armpit that women who live with their men for some time started to have normal menstrual cycles. Some women get pregnant even when they have irregular cycles.

Third, healthy sperms in great number. Since 50% of the time, men contribute to the success of conception thru their fertile sperms. Tell your man to take enough Vitamin E, grape seed extract, Ginseng and other red-colored fruits and veggies. Men in other cultures drink and eat varied blood and parts of animals such as snake, turtle, reindeer and etc.

Fourth, healthy body of the woman. Beware of taking > 600 mg Vitamin C per day since it is believed to make the uterus inhospitable for conception. Why is many of our women today have fibroids? Is it because of the environmental pollutants and toxins from the food and drugs that we take? Then, let's avoid all of these: caffeine, alcohol, white sugar, preservatives, pesticides, and other carcinogen. Drink clean water. Visit a doctor specializing in fertility or an herbalist, massage therapist and other holistic healers.

Fifth is timing of sexual intercourse: To be within the range of conception, have sex during the 8th to 17th day from the start of menstruation, counting day 1st as the start of menstruation. To be exact, have sex during the two days before and after the vaginal mucus turns to stretchy, egg white in consistency - this is the fertile ovulatory days. Sixth is living in less stressful lifestyle. Our hormones are affected by stress, sleep, and food.

To get the better chance of having a boy, have sex during your ovulation or fertile days. For a girl, at least four days before ovulation happens. Many Filipina women danced on the street in a place where they celebrate the feast of a Saint noted to help bring fertility. There is power in prayer and happiness. A person with a healthy mind, body and soul is a holistically integrated being.
