From the Heart is a new column by Perla Daly for www.bagongpinay.net.

In many Philippine dialects, puso means heart. In the Ilonggo dialect of the Visayan Islands tagipusuon signifies the center of one's being. We must learn to perceive AND live from the center of our being.

From the Heart as a column is about living life with an inner perception that must compliment our 5 senses and our intellect.

I believe our Heart has much to tell us but many times our egos relegate feelings and insight to the world of irrationality and we end up ignoring this very important part of ourselves. We cannot ignore the Source where our energy and replenishment come from because when we do, personal stress, confusion, frustrations, negative feelings and experiences arise.

Honing your skills of seeing from the heart will help you see both the microcosmic situations of life and also the macrocosmic dynamics that are taking place. As we each learn to better honor the perception of our hearts we each come closer to personal wisdom. You will find a sense of tranquility in the midst of turmoil because you are getting better at staying centered in whom you are and can respond to situations with clarity rather than losing control to anger and fear. Equipped with such power, your actions become savvier and life bulldozes you less and less and instead it begins to unfold before you.

I am learning to live life as a woman who seeks meaning and renewal in being female and feminine, in being a Filipina, a mother, a wife, a woman and maybe even as a leader in some eyes. I am inviting you to experience this journey with me through this site... through these articles.

Many of these writings will come from responding to the questions and concerns directed within or to BagongPinay online community as message boards or from email from Filipinas and Filipinos from around the world.

We should all learn to perceive AND live from the center of our being because it is our point of connection to the mysterious and divine Source.
